1940-Air Terminal MuseumPontiac owners and fans: I am pleased to announce that in cooperation with the 1940 Air Terminal Museum we have put together a great event featuring Pontiacs and Planes. The event will be Saturday, November 16th from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. This is not a formal car show, but an informal event featuring your Pontiac, old or new, and some vintage and modern aircraft. The event will be held as part of the 1940 Air Terminal Museum’s monthly series called Wings and Wheels. Every month they invite a group of automotive enthusiasts to join them at the museum. For November that group includes any Pontiac owner. They also display some of their vintage aircraft and invite plane owners of all kinds to fly in for the event. If you arrive in a Pontiac you get free admission to the event and the museum, special parking and access to the ramp (which is normally restricted), allowing you a view of the Hobby airport operations you would normally not get to see. You DO NOT have to deal with Hobby Airport traffic, parking, security, etc. The museum is located on Travelair Street off of Telephone road, away from the buy airport entrance. Directions to the museum are here: http://www.1940airterminal.org/about/directions/ Just check in at the gift shop desk when you arrive and let them know you are a Wings and Wheels participant. You do not have to stay until 3 p.m. if you don’t want to but you should arrive by 10 a.m. so you don’t miss anything. The 1940 Air Terminal Museum was Houston’s only commercial air terminal from 1940 to 1954 and is housed in a beautiful building that has been restored. A link to the museum information is here: http://www.1940airterminal.org/ Please respond to my email bobwicker@sbcglobal.net if you can attend so we can get a head count for the event. Please invite any Pontiac owners or club members you know that are not copied on this email Again, this is a FREE event. There will be a food vendor on site from which you can purchase food if you desire. This should be a ton of fun and I hope to see you there. Sincerely, Bob Wicker email bobwicker@sbcglobal.net
