THIS IS FOR THE CONTESTANTS FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO HAVE NEVER ENTERED A CAR IN AN APA SHOW THE INFORMATION ON THIS PAGE MAY BE VERY USEFULL . FIRST OF ALL YOU DONT HAVE TO ENTER A PONTIAC . IF YOU HAVE A SWEET RIDE YOU WANT TO SHOW OFF , BRING IT ON DOWN . WHEN YOU DRIVE THROUGH THE FRONT ENTRANCE YOU ARE GREETED BY AN APA OFFICIAL WHO WILL ASSIST YOU IN YOUR CLASSISIFICATION , THE ENTRY FEE IS $25.00 YOU WILL ASKED TO FILLOUT THE TOP PART OF THE JUDGES SHEET AND ASKED TO SIGN AND AGREE TO ABIDE BY THE RULES AND REGULATIONS, AS YOU WOULD IN ANY CAR SHOW. THE JUDGING SHEET ALSO LISTS THE CRITERIA THE JUDGES WILL BE LOOKING FOR TO DETERMINE YOUR PLACEMENT . THESE ARE THE STANDARDS USED TO DETERMINE AWARD PLACEMENT . Smoke Signals A MESSAGE FROM THE ‘PREZ. Well, it’s been a long time since the last message, and we have had a few things happen since. Of course the biggest (and best) news was our Spring car show in Galveston. We could not have asked for a more perfect day or turn out! The sun was out, the winds were blowing, the music was rocking and the cars just kept on coming! We hosted almost 120 cars for this show, and had lots of help from our members, old and new, to make this happen. Registration, judging and awards all ran smoothly and the 50/50 jar brought in over $600.00! Thanks to EVERYONE for all your help and participation, working together we had what can only be described as ‘Our best show ever’! I If ist the rest of our summer club activities in date order this should make it easy for everyone to mark their cale dars-hint, hint). June 1- Our next event is the APA Family picnic on Sunday. It will be held at Resolf Park in Alvin at 1 10am. The club will sponsor hamburgers, hot dogs i and soft drinks. This is a great place to bring out both the love ones and your family too! There is a fishing pond, children’s playground, restrooms and lots of field for baseball, football or volleyball, and of course the nice breeze under the pavilion makes a wonderful spot for a nice afternoon nap! Don’t forget your lawn chairs, bug spray and dessert. June 6-8 The Pontiac Southern Nationals will be held in San Antonio. A few of us are planning on going, so if anyone is interested please give me a call for more details or to make arrangements to drive out there as a ‘club’. We will be leaving on Friday and retuming on Sunday morning. Note- If you happen to attend one of the several car shows going on this summer, please take some pictures and send them to Larry G. to post on the website. Return of The Firebird

Hi Larry,   I would like to know if it is likely that we’ll ever see the return of the Firebird as it was such an exciting car to drive and affordable, also I would like to know why production was stopped as this car did put American cars on the map, one thing the world loved about America was the muscle car, they were so different to other us cars..   Regards Carl Foster

Professional Car Society

The P.C.S. has come to Houston I have been asked and have accepted the title of president of the Lone Star State Chapter of the  Professional Car Society. Our members own and drive all makes and models antique/classic hearses, ambulances, limos, flower cars, firetrucks, policecars and vehicles from the professional fields and are located in the U.S., Canada, U.K., Australia and Europe. Texas has a lot of members as well and the goal is to unify Texas members and have a working P.C.S. chapter for Texas. The chapter has been inactive for some time and Texas has come close to losing the charter.
